Dinobots, kids featured in new ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ clips

Two new videos showing footage of the upcoming “Transformers: The Last Knight” have been released, and they put the spotlight on a teenage girl who’ll play an important role in the movie. They also offer glimpses of some Dinobots, and our war-torn planet, which has become the dystopian battlefield for the warring Cybertronians.

As seen in the above TV spot, the girl is Izabella (Isabela Moner). This tough-as-nails teen is a street-smart orphan who seems to have made the acquaintance of a number of Cybertronians, from some cute baby Dinobots to a hulking yellow robot named Canopy. Her only friend also happens to be a tiny blue Autobot named Sqweeks.

Grimlock also appears in the TV spot munching on a delicious car.

We’re even treated to a few quick cuts from a battle between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

Another video, released a few days earlier, shows Izabella and a group of kids running away from a robot, and even teases us with Optimus Prime’s possible turn to villainy.

The movie’s official description reads:

“The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

“There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.”

In addition to the aforementioned actors, Stanley Tucci, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro will return to reprise their roles. Liam Garrigan assumes the role of King Arthur.

Returning Autobots include Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), Bumblebee, Hound (John Goodman), Drift, Crosshairs, and Grimlock. A new addition is Hot Rod, a noble yet brash warrior who transforms into a Lamborghini.

Returning Decepticons include Megatron and Barricade. Newcomer Onslaught converts into an enormous green Western Star tow truck, while Hooligan and Mohawk transform into a Volkswagen and motorcycle, respectively.

There’s also a Cybertronian knight named Dragonstorm, whose alt mode is a three-headed dragon, and several other new robots.

Directed by Michael Bay, “Transformers: The Last Knight” opens in theaters on June 23. — BM, GMA News
