New Enesco Disney collectibles coming to PHL through Arigatoys

A host of new Disney products from American giftware company Enesco are coming to the country, thanks to Arigatoys Collectibles, a Philippine distributor of toys and hobby collectibles.

Enesco’s Disney brands include Disney Traditions, Disney Showcase Collection, and Walt Disney Archives Collection. According to Arigatoys, new items from each brand are headed to Philippine stores this year.

Disney Traditions

Disney Traditions “combines the magic of Disney with traditional motifs of handmade folk art.” Designed by Jim Shore, these items range from wild reinterpretations of classic characters to dioramas portraying memorable scenes from animated shows. They vary in size from as short as 2 inches to as tall as 10 inches.

Disney Showcase Collection

Disney Showcase Collection features “Disney princesses, villains, Classic Disney and Pixar characters as never seen before.” They are also described as “highly-detailed, hand-painted and ‘character-correct’ home décor and gift items which have the look of quality porcelain.”

Under Disney Showcase Collection, we have several lines that feature either show-accurate or reimagined depictions of beloved characters such as Snow White, Mulan, and Elsa.

Some of the new items we’ll be getting come from Disney Couture de Force, one of the lines that reimagines characters to give them a fashionable twist. This entails costumes redesigned with extra-artistic flourish, from finely detailed faux gems to vibrant paints. These figures come in different sizes depending on the character. For example, Cinderella is 8.35 inches in height, whereas The Beast is 10.5 inches tall.

Walt Disney Archives Collection

This brand “revisits seldom seen original treasures and transforms them into an inspired collection that includes limited edition animation maquettes, and archival stationery.”

The figures in this brand are some of the largest of Enesco’s Disney products, with many standing between 10 and 12 inches tall.

Additionally, these figures are extremely rare, with only a couple of thousand pieces per design produced, and only 10 to 15 new designs released per year. Due to the limited nature of these exclusive items, they are also the most expensive.

While Enesco’s latest Disney items have yet to be officially revealed, we can expect the company to produce figures based on contemporary and upcoming films and series, such as the live-action “Beauty and the Beast” remake. Arigatoys Collectibles also plans to exhibit Enesco products in various toy fairs, such as this year’s ToyCon Philippines. — AT, GMA News
