‘Art Gap’ exhibit shows creativity of Kapuso employees and personalities
Almost 50 paintings currently on exhibit at the GMA Network Center showcase the creativity of Kapuso employees and personalities.
Art Gap 2016, which runs until December 9, features artworks depicting various subjects created using different media.
The exhibit, now on its 15th year, is for the benefit of GMA's socio-civic arm, GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF).
Gracing the launch of the exhibit last November 24 were Kapuso stars Solenn Heussaff and Isabelle de Leon, and GMA News and Public Affairs' Connie Sison. Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was also present.
They were joined by GMA Network executives led by Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog, GMAKF Founder and Ambassador Mel C. Tiangco, GMA First VP for Post Production Edward Achacoso, GMA VP for Professional Development Howie Severino and GMA VP for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz.
Solenn's painting called "Stand," mostly in black and white, features a woman standing while pulling up her shirt, revealing her breasts.
She said she wanted to portray women empowerment in her painting.
Art Gap started in 2001 as a painting exhibit to showcase the creativity of GMA employees and talents.
Featured in the past Art Gap exhibits were on-cam talents such as Joey de Leon, Michael V., and the late rapper Francis Magalona.
Art Gap developed into an art competition covering painting, photography, and caricature drawings.
