John Arcilla continues to fight for love of country as Heneral Luna turns 150
Kapuso actor John Arcilla donned the epic moustache of the equally epic hero General Antonio Luna on Thursday at the launch of the exhibit "Pagrosas ng Nag-aalimpuyong Kalayaan."
The exhibit marks the first big celebration of the birth anniversary of General Luna. It will be on display until October 29, the revolutionary hero's 150th birthday.
Arcilla told the press that the great interest in the hit historical film led to a "blooming" in creativity, which they sought to highlight through this display of the behind-the-scenes photographs.

"Ipakilala natin 'yung mga photographers behind the scenes," he said, hoping to keep the interest in the character and the film alive.
On display are photographs taken by Caren Cruz, Regil Erispe, Keem Goguangco, Raffy Longasa, Shaira Olaya, and Grace Tagum Orbon.
Arcilla added of the renewed interest in Luna's story, "Hindi ito dapat maging fandom lang."
Prior to this exhibit, Arcilla, Los Lunaticos Bravos, and Artikulo Uno helped organize Linggo ng Wika activities plus a fan art competition. The actor said that they will continue the tradition every year, because they want people to remain inspired to protect and value freedom.
"Umiikot [ang mga akitibidad] sa pagmamahal sa kasaysayan, sining, at kultura," Arcilla explained. "Sana 'di makalimutan ang katapangan ni Heneral Luna at ang kaniyang pinaglaban."
"Hindi dapat matapos sa loob ng sinehan. I'm very happy na nandito na, nasa labas na 'yung aming [trabaho]," he said. — BM, GMA News
