Mercedes Cabral starrer ‘Rosita’ headlines Danish Film Fest
"Rosita," a 2015 Danish film starring Filipina actress Mercedes Cabral, will open the Danish Film Festival at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City on September 29.
The film festival will run until October 2 and also features the following Danish productions (links go to trailers):
- Antboy: Revenge of the Red Fury (2014) - Tween superhero Antboy fights evil in his hometown.
- The Idealist (2015) - A journalist investigates a Cold War-era nuclear disaster.
- Silent Heart (2014) - Two sisters find their sick mother's decision to die before her disease worsens hard to accept.
- The Keeper of the Lost Causes (2013) - Police inspector Carl Mørck and his assistant Assad work on cold cases, including that of a beautiful missing politician.
- Sex, Drugs & Taxation (2013) - Based on true events, two famous Danes—a libertarian politician and a hedonist tycoon—take a joyride through taxation, mass travel, hookers and politics.
- The Hour of the Lynx (2013) - Two women begin a shocking journey into the mind of a young killer in a high-security psychiatric ward.
- With Your Permission (2007) - Unpopular employee Jan is sent to group therapy, where an unlikely friendship emerges between him and the two mechanics Rudy and Alf.
- The Candidate (2008) - Defense attorney Jonas Bechmann is accused of murder. Taking matters into his own hands, he throws himself into the hunt for a group of blackmailers.
- Karla's World (2007) - Ten-year-old Karla struggles to keep her family together at Christmas—not easy when your parents are divorced and you have a new stepdad, an irritating brother, and a father who doesn't always keep his promises.
- Fear Me Not (2008) - Michael takes a new anti-depressant that gives him an urge to take control of other people's lives. Slowly, his psychological games grow more drastic.
"Rosita" is about a young Filipina mail-order bride (Cabral) who travels to Denmark to marry a middle-aged man and instead falls for his son.
