Film editing workshops to be held in Manila, Iloilo, Baguio, Davao, Zamboanga
The Film Development Council of the Philippines will be holding a series of film editing workshops at the FDCP Cinematheques across the country later this month and in September.
According to the FDCP in a statement, each workshop will take five days and will tackle topics including:
- the power of post-production
- file management and a more systematic workflow
- storytelling through editing, and
- non-linear editing techniques.
The workshops will be conducted by awarded professional editors, and students will present their work during the workshop.
The schedule for the workshops is as follows:
- August 24 to 28: Cinematheque Iloilo (Tara Illenberger)
- September 7 to 11: Cinematheque Baguio (Abbie Lara)
- September 14 to 18: Cinematheque Davao (Bagane Fiola and Willie Apa) and Cinematheque Zamboanga (Zurich Chan)
- September 21 to 25: Cinematheque Centre Manila (Carlo Francisco Manatad and Charliebebs Gohetia)
The FDCP will be conducting the workshops in partnership with the National Film Archives of the Philippines and the Film ASEAN. They will be the first in a series of filmmaking workshops that will include acting, make-up and prosthetics, and script-writing.

According to the FDCP, only 15 participants can be accommodated for each workshop.
