Pick up a book and be a part of Araw ng Aklat on April 23

Set an alarm and make sure you don't miss the World Book and Copyright Day / Dia Del Libro / Araw ng Aklat on April 23.

Pick up a book in any language you choose and take pleasure in the multitude of realities captured in the pages.

The Commission on the Filipino Language (Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino) has partnered with the National Book Development Board and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines for a celebration fit for bibliophiles at the Ayala Triangle, Makati City from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The UP Singing Ambassadors will be providing music for the festivities and Teatro Tomasino will be performing "Consejo de los dioses" by Dr. Jose Rizal for free.

A translation of the book by Michael M. Coroza and National Artist for Literature Rio Alma will also be launched on the same day, alongside Nicolas Pichay's Filipino adaptation of Shakespeare's "King Lear." —Aya Tantiangco/KG, GMA News
