‘Les Miserables’ Manila run extended to April 24

Due to overwhelming demand for tickets, the upcoming Manila production of “Les Miserables” has been extended by nine more shows, with tickets to the new dates already being sold by Ticket World.

Claude Michel-Schönberg and Alain Boublil's musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel is now slated to run for six weeks in Manila.

“Les Miserables” is set to open in Manila on March 11 at The Theater in Solaire and will run until April 24.

One of best-loved musicals of all time, “Les Miserables” was first staged in the Philippines in 1993 at the Meralco Theater by Repertory Philippines.

The Manila production this year will feature the Australian cast of the musical, plus Filipina singer and stage actress Rachelle Ann Go as Fantine.

Joining Rachelle are Simon Gleeson as Jean Valjean from the Australia theater company and Earl Carpenter as Javert from the Broadway's Les Misérables run.

Set in 19th century France, "Les Miserables" is one of the most celebrated musicals produced by Cameron Mackintosh, featuring beloved songs "I Dreamed A Dream," "On My Own," "Do You Hear the People Sing," and "One Day More." — Bianca Rose Dabu/BM, GMA News
