Wurtzbach, dressed in a pink and white terno designed by Albert Andrada, was accompanied by her mother Cheryl and Bb. Pilipinas chair Stella Araneta. Their party went straight to meet with the President at around 10 a.m.

In a press briefing after their hour-long meeting, Wurtzbach shared what he talked about with Aquino: “He congratulated me. I also congratulated him for a successful term.”

The beauty queen once again disproved the rumors about a romantic link with the President, but stated that it's an honor to be in his presence—especially in the context of bringing the Miss Universe crown back home with her.

In an earlier interview, Aquino, 55 said she’s happy for Wurtzbach’s achievement.

"Siyempre, natuwa tayong lahat na nanalo siya...Iyong point na pinaghirapan naman niya talaga itong pagkapanalo niya,” Aquino had said.

On electing the 'right people'

Meanwhile, Wurtzbach urged the Filipino electorate to vote for the “right people” in the May national and local elections.

“I hope that we elect the right people because it’s going to shape the country in the next couple of years so it’s very important,” she said.

“My advice would be, kilalanin niyo po ng mabuti yung mga iboboto niyo. Dapat magaan sa loob ninyo kung sino iboboto ninyo, hindi po sapilitan. Hindi po parang minadaling desisyon,” she continued, stressing, "Kailangang magaan sa loob ninyo kung sino iboboto niyo sa eleksyon."

Senate President Franklin Drilon earlier shared that Wurtzbach has expressed interest in entering politics. Wurtzbach was at the Senate on Monday to receive a resolution honoring her for winning the Miss Universe crown. — AT, GMA News
