Hour-long New Year fireworks display in Bulacan makes bid for Guinness record
Around 100,000 people welcomed the new year in Bocaue, Bulacan on Thursday by witnessing the grand hour-long fireworks display at Ciudad de Victoria, a report on Unang Balita on Friday by Jamie Santos said.
Organizers of the fireworks display are hoping to bag a Guinness World Record for the largest fireworks display.
They are also hoping to set world records for the longest line of sparklers in a relay and the most sparklers lit simultaneously.
People lined the Philippine Arena stadium with the sparklers, which were lit at 11 p.m. Thursday.
Organizers also staged a concert participated in by apl.de.ap, Arnel Pineda, and Eat Bulaga's JoWaPao—Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Paolo Ballesteros who play Lola Nidora, Lola Tinidora, and Lola Tidora in the noontime show's kalyeserye segment. —KG, GMA News
