Venezuela’s Edymar Martinez and other beauties at Miss International
Twenty-year-old Venezuelan model Edymar Martinez took the Miss International crown on Thursday, besting 69 other contestants during coronation night in Tokyo.
Martinez succeeded Valerie Hernandez of Puerto Rico and is the 55th Miss International since the pageant began in 1960.
She also won the special prize of Miss Perfect Body.
First runner-up was Honduras' Jennifer Valle, followed by Eunice Onyango of Kenya as 2nd runner-up (she was also named Miss International Africa); Pham Hong Thuy Van of Vietnam as 3rd runner-up and US bet Lindsay Becker as 4th runner-up.
Other recipients of the pageant's special awards were Korea's Park Ah-reum (Miss International Asia), Portugal's Isabel Vieira (Miss International Europe), Aruba's Laura Marcela Ruiz (Miss International Americas), Hawaii's Brianna Acosta (Miss International Oceania) and Japan's Arisa Nakagawa (Best National Costume).
