Brillante Mendoza’s ‘Taklub’ now screening in select cinemas



 
After winning international acclaim when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, Brillante Mendoza's film "Taklub" is now screening at select cinemas nationwide.

Starring Nora Aunor, the film follows the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda as they mourn their loss and try to rebuild their lives.


Shown at Cannes under the festival's Un Certain Regard category, it received a special commendation from the festival's Ecumenical Jury.

In June, it opened the 20th French Film Festival with Aunor and Mendoza in attendance in Makati.

"Taklub" was produced by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in cooperation with the Presidential Communications Operations Office-Philippine Information Agency (PCOO-PIA). Sen. Loren Legarda was the film's principal advocate.

According to a statement from Legarda's office, "Taklub" is currently screening at the following cinemas:

  • Ayala Fairview Terraces
  • Market Market
  • Glorietta 4
  • Trinoma
  • Gateway and AliMall Cineplex
