Trumpets’ ‘Bluebird of Happiness’ wins big at theater site’s fan-driven awards

 

Proving they can stage a comback, theater company Trumpets won big at the recently concluded 2013 BroadwayWorld Philippines Awards for their musical "The Bluebird of Happiness," bagged eight major awards including Best Actor in a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Filipino Musical, and Best Musical Direction.

Anton Posadas ("The Bluebird of Happiness") and Isay Alvarez ("Katy") won Best Actor and Best Actress in a Musical, respectively, while Anton Juan ("The Maids") and Pinky Amador ("Piaf") won Best Actor and Actress in a Play, respectively.

Kapuso star Tom Rodriguez was also recognized as Best Crossover Artist from mainstream to theater for his performance as Aladdin in Atlantis Productions' "Disney's Aladdin," while Kids Acts Philippines theater company won the "Best Theater Company" award.
