Jak Roberto gets candid on 'anti-silos class,' proves he's a true 'anti-silos' master

Jak Roberto's "anti-silos" class is one of the popular internet trends this year, and our anti-silos master recently got candid with his most viral moment in 2023.

In the latest episode of "Updated With Nelson Canlas," Jak recalled that the trend went viral after the GMA Gala 2023 where he, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco all walked separately on the red carpet.

"Natanong ako kung bakit daw ako naglakad mag-isa. Tapos tinanong ako kung hindi daw ba ako nag-selos, as I expected na itatanong," he said.

Jak said he does not feel jealous over Barbie and David's on-screen partnership and commented on the fans' feelings of sympathy for him as Barbie's real-life boyfriend.

"'Yung simpatya nila na hindi ko naman—kumbaga hindi ko naman ine-expect or 'di ko naman kailangan—bigla. Kasi wala naman talaga akong dapat ipagka-selos, so sila 'yung parang hindi naniniwala.

"Parang, kung ako 'yan ganito, ganyan, ganon magseselos," he added.

Jak said that he has a professional approach to the popularity of Team BarDa following Barbie and David's strong chemistry in "Maria Clara at Ibarra" and "Maging Sino Ka Man."

"S'yempre iba naman 'yung mundo ng pagiging artista," he said. "Alam namin kung paano magkaroon ng chemistry sa bawat ka-partners namin, sa magkaroon ng kilig. Iyon 'yung trabaho namin eh. So parang for me hindi siya ka-selos-selos," he said.

As for the "anti-silos class" trend, Jak said he took everything in good fun—dancing all the "silos" away and embracing his Prof. Jak persona at the Jak Roberto University.

"Kaysa magpaka-toxic ka, i-overthink mo lahat nung sinasabi sa 'yo, lahat nung ginagawang meme sa 'yo, mas makapag-isip ka kasi kung relax ka lang or hindi ka masyadong nagpapaapekto ro'n," he said. "Sabi nga nila, if you cannot beat them join them 'di ba?"

"Hindi ko ine-expect na sasabihin nila na, 'Nakakatuwa si Jak, hindi siya pikon.' Ganun 'yung mga nabasa kong feedback eh," he added.

Jak currently stars in GMA Afternoon Prime series "The Missing Husband," while Barbie and David will star in upcoming historical series "Pulang Araw."
