Jason Abalos hops on the AI Yearbook trend with actual high school photos

Seeing AI Yearbook posts all over your feed? We all have the Epik app to thank.

Using artificial intelligence, the Epik transforms your usual snaps into classic yearbook material, while removing all unnecessary elements like backgrounds, objects, and yes even your beauty marks.

Plenty celebrities and influencers including Megan Young, Sarah Lahbati, Arianne Bautista, and Bretman Rock have joined the trend but we have to hand it to Kapuso star Jason Abalos for, giving the trend a funny twist.

On Instagram late Sunday, Jason posted a photo from his actual graduation — that's a toga and a medal he's wearing, right? — as well as from his fourth year in high school.

"Lahat na ba naka AI yearbook? Maybayad pa pala pa edit diyan," the new father joked. "Eto na lang nong 5th year college at 4th year HS," he continued.

He followed Dingdong Dantes who first shared his actual high school graduation photo from Ateneo de Manila, made a pun, and asked for help.

"Ai, mali," he began before using the hashtag #AI90sYearbookGoneWrong.

The Kapuso Primetime King ended his short caption by asking his followers for help: "Paano ba tong AI na ‘to? Help."

Artificial Intelligence is all the rage these days. Late last month, GMA Network unveiled the country's first sportscasters, Maia and Marco, and immediately sparked the important conversation surrounding the latest technology.

Over the weekend, the Kapuso Network doubled-down on its efforts and mounted a masterclass for employees all over the country to learn more about AI, its complexities, and highlighted how it can benefit the newsroom.

At the A.I. masterclass GMA Network Senior Vice President and the Head of Integrated News, Regional TV and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso said committee has also been established to further study A.I. and to create guidelines for Kapuso journalists.
