Heartbreaking moment Lolo's girl cries as they part ways goes viral
Two-year-old Blake and her 64-year-old grandfather, a seafarer, share a very close bond that it is heartbreaking to see them part ways, according to the report of Jonathan Andal for "Good Night Vibes" on "Saksi" Tuesday.
Blake's mother, Daphne Jaramilla, shares that her daughter would start crying the moment she loses sight of her Lolo, whom she calls her best friend.
Her Lolo has been working as a seaman for 44 years and every time he leaves for work, he spends six months to one year away from his family.
However, the time he spends at home is focused solely on his family.
Blake and her Lolo spend a lot of time together. She stays beside him in simple moments as when he slices a piece of fruit.
When her grandfather had to leave to continue his work as a seaman, Blake did not want him to leave and was almost inconsolable.
"Kahit na nasa sasakyan na kami umiiyak pa rin siya. Tapos yung kamay niya humahabol pa rin sa Lolo niya," Daphne related.
Netizens, including overseas workers, can relate to the kind of bonding that they have as they too are separated from their loved ones for long periods of time.
Daphne advises that loved ones who work abroad should be cherished.
"I-appreciate po natin sila. Mahalin po natin sila and i-respeto po natin sila. Yan po kasi ang makakapagbigay ng lakas po sa kanila e," she said.
"Magpasalamat tayo dahil mahal tayo ng mga Lolo't Lola natin," she added. — BAP/KG, GMA Integrated News
