MJ Lastimosa responds to backlash about her 'Barbie' comments
MJ Lastimosa was the recipient of negative comments following her reaction to the "Barbie" movie.
In a now-deleted tweet, the host and Miss Universe Philippines 2014 said, "Sobrang waley ng barbie movie sayang 600 ko haha!"
She added in another deleted tweet, "Okay naman some parts but in general, mehhh parang school project film."
Twitter users said that MJ misunderstood the film's themes of feminism, self-discovery, hardships of womanhood, and many others.
They added that with the movie's high budget and marketing strategies, it should not be compared to a school project.
opinion and it has nothing to do about the movie being feminist, which is the only part that I liked, specially the speech of America Ferre, parang dapat nga wala na si Will Ferrell dun. But it’s just me, you’re entitled to like and dislike a movie. It’s not that deep mare.

Following the backlash, MJ took to Twitter to defend herself.
"Wait lang naman sobrang online bullying naman agad kayo. Nakakatakot naman mag ka opinion dito minumura nako ng iba sa ibang socmed ko only because I did not like a film?" she said.
MJ added that she liked other films by Greta Gerwig such as "Little Women" and "Lady Bird."
"Why attack me if I say I didn't find ['Barbie'] as good," she said.
MJ said that she just shared her personal opinion.
