Meet the Song Joong Ki lookalike who was spotted in Bacolod City

A video captured by a K-drama fan recently trended on social media after she mistakenly thought she shared a jeepney ride with "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki.

On "Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho," the fan girl from Bacolod City looked back on her viral experience.

Jorizel, 21, said her gloomy day suddenly brightened up after she saw a co-passenger who looked exactly like the South Korean star.

["He looked so much like Song Joong Ki, especially because of the cap. Even his mannerisms are similar to Song Joong Ki."]

["I was fangirling because I'm a huge fan of Song Joong Ki and it was like I saw him in person."]

Jorizel couldn't help but take a video of the passenger.

Baka sabihin, 'Ang creepy naman nitong babaeng 'to,'" she said.

"Nag-delulu moments na po ako nung time na 'yun kasi sabi ko what if si Song Joong Ki talaga!" she added, sharing that her suspicion grew bigger after thinking that the men beside the passenger were his bodyguards.

["I secretly took a video of him because I didn't want him to think I was creepy. I kept thinking what if the guy was really Song Joong Ki?'"]

Unfortunately, Jorizel had to wake up from her daydream when she arrived at her destination. She then immediately shared the clip she took to her friend to share the news.

Kinabukasan, nag-viral na," Jorizel said. "'Yung comments na 'Hala! Kamukha niya talaga!'

["My friend shared it with her other friends. And the next thing we knew, the video had gone viral. People were saying that the guy really looked like Song Joong Ki."]

The alleged Joong Ki was located by the KMJS team at the Cagayan de Oro City port.

It turned out that Joong Ki's lookalike is a 28-year-old seaman residing in Bulacan.

["I was surprised when I saw that it had gone viral on TikTok."]

Their cargo vessel had just landed in Bacolod, and he was out for lunch with his co-workers when the video was taken.

"During that time na hindi ko naman po alam na nag-vi-video sa akin. Busy lang po ako sa pag-ce-cellphone," he said.

["I didn't realize that someone was taking a video of me. I was just busy playing with my phone."]

But according to Jerome, it was not the first time someone mistook him for the actor.

"May isang girl na lumapit sa akin sabi niya 'Sir, are you sir Joong Ki?' Can we take a picture?' Napa-smile ako then at the same time nag-Tagalog ako, sabi ko 'Ay hindi po,' biglang nagtawanan sila," he said.

["There was this one time that a girl approached me and asked, 'Sir, are you Sir Joong Ki? Can we take a picture?' I smiled and talked to her in Tagalog. 'Oh no, I'm not.' Then we ended up laughing."]

Jerome only found out that he had gone viral on social media when he returned on board.

Eh viral ka kaya sa TikTok'," he said.

["A friend called me and asked if I was in Bacolod, because he also saw the viral video on TikTok."]

Jerome said that Jorizel also reached out to him to apologize for the unsolicited video.

["She messaged me to apologize because her friend uploaded the video without my permission. I told her that it was okay. Because of that video, people were calling me Song Joong Ki's lookalike."]

He added that it would be nice to see Jorizel in person if given the chance.

So with the help of the KMJS team, Jerome prepared a surprise for Jorizel who was in Iloilo City. Jorizel thought that she was there just to shoot additional videos for the program.

After about 24 hours of sea travel, Jerome was able to make it to the port in Iloilo City despite the bad weather.

And finally, Jorizel was able to meet her "oppa" in person once again!

Maraming salamat," Jerome said.

["How are you? Because of you, I went viral on TikTok. Thank you for that."]
