Netizens react to Fidel’s heartbreak on ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’
David Licauco’s Fidel suffered a great deal of heartbreak on “Maria Clara at Ibarra" on Tuesday's episode and netizens were much to quick to react.
The episode's official hashtag #MCIEndgame quickly topped Philippine Twitter's trending list, with #Fidel and #FilayBabu also making it to the list, as Barbie Forteza's Klay found herself in the real world on Tuesday's episode.
On TikTok, David shared a video of him breaking down and crying his heart out while Janine Berdin and Adie’s “Mahika” played in the background.
“Ang sakit, Klay,” he captioned the post with several crying emojis.
As of writing, the video has garnered over 2.7 million views, 616,700 likes, and 15,400 comments from fans saying they wouldn’t do what Barbie Forteza’s Klay did to him.
“Kung ako ‘yan, ‘di kita gaganyanin,” one wrote while another said “kung ako ‘yan, hindi ka iiyak.”
There were also some who couldn’t help but praise David for his skills that made for an impactful scene.
Meanwhile, Barbie took to Twitter to make up for what her character did to David’s with lines from Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away.”
