Netizens mourn as BTS's Jungkook changes iconic Instagram username

Jungkook made waves online when he chose "abcdefghi__lmnopqrstuvwxyz" as his username when he and his fellow BTS members finally opened Instagram accounts.

And if you don't get it, that's the whole alphabet except "JK," which he also refers to himself as.

The witty username amused not just fans, but also brands from A to Z, who didn't miss their chance to try out the letter play on Twitter as well.

However, it seems that Jungkook has decided to put the iconic username to rest.

As of Wednesday, the South Korean superstar now uses the handle "jungkook.97" on Instagram.

Jungkook was born in the year 1997, which would explain the number.

The change has the internet mourning, causing "abcdefghi__lmnopqrstuvwxyz" and "Jungkook" to trend on Twitter.

"NO MORE USER ALPHABET" also made it to the trends list.

Jungkook, RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, and V all launched their personal Instagram accounts in December.
