Here's why 'Pinocchio' is the latest trending meme
"Father, when can I leave to be on my own? I've got the whole world to see!"
If you've been hearing this line a lot, blame Lionsgate's upcoming film "Pinocchio: A True Story."
Or rather, blame the netizens who couldn't get enough of Pauly Shore's voicing of Pinocchio, which was nothing like anybody expected.
Earlier this month, a tweet went viral for pointing out the specific line: "Father, when can I leave to be on my own? I've got the whole world to see!"

It spawned memes on Twitter, with people calling it the "yassification of Pinocchio."
Shortly after, Lionsgate uploaded that specific part of the trailer as an official sound on TikTok.

The rest, as they say, is history.
So far, the official sound has been used in over 3,300 videos, with the most popular ones reaching two to three million likes.
Pauly Shore has reacted to the trend, saying that it's "great."
"People are having fun with it, and it’s silly," he told Us Weekly on Tuesday. "I’m in the entertainment business, so if people are entertained, then that’s a good thing, whether they are making fun of my voice or not!"
"Pinocchio: A True Story" is a humorous take on the classic tale of the wooden hero wanting to become a real boy. It is set to premiere this 2022. —JCB, GMA News
