#JessicaSohoInterviews dominates trends as presidential aspirants answer important questions

“The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews” dominated the trends on local Twitter during its airing on Saturday night.

Netizens applauded veteran journalist Jessica Soho and her team during the highly anticipated episode, which featured presidential aspirants Vice President Leni Robredo, Mayor Isko Moreno, and Senators Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao.

During the one-on-one interviews, Soho asked the leading presidential aspirants questions that needed to be asked—their intentions behind running for the position, the controversies thrown at them, their stand on pressing issues and their concrete plans should they be elected.

Unexpected and revealing questions were also given for viewers to get to know the aspirants in-depth.

While the episode aired, the hashtag #JessicaSohoInterviews topped local trends with over 164,000 tweets made as of 9 p.m.

Many of the tweets commended Soho for her critical and sharp questions as well as the team’s thorough research.

As of 8:40 p.m., almost all of the top 10 Twitter trends in the Philippines were names and keywords mentioned during the interview.

Live viewers on GMA Public Affairs Youtube channel hit more than 220,000 as of 8:44 p.m., while viewers across several GMA channels on Facebook reached a peak of over 222,000.
