Pet cat warms hearts after staying on top of owner's casket all throughout funeral

A pet cat warmed many hearts online after staying true to his role as a furry companion right until the very end.

As seen on Katrina Son's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, fur baby Terry stayed on top of his late owner JM's casket all throughout his funeral.

According to JM's sister Marie Cloie Binos, Terry was used to sleeping beside JM when he was alive. The 19-year-old passed away last November 13 due to pancreatitis.

"Akala niya natutulog pa rin kaya kahit anong gawin naming pag-alis kay Terry, talagang bumabalik siya ro'n sa ibabaw ng ataol. Kahit may viewing, talagang nando'n si Terry," she said.

["Terry might have thought that JM was just sleeping so even though we removed him, he would still go back and rest on top of the casket. He stayed there even when there's a viewing."]

Aside from Terry, JM also left behind 15 dogs and 11 other cats. Since JM's passing, his whole family felt like the pets felt sad along with them.

"'Yung mga hayop, talagang may pakiramdam talaga sila na nakakaintindi talaga sila na may endless love sila sa mga amo nila, na 'di rin madali sa kanila harapin yung mga pangyayari," Marie Cloie said.

["Pets also have feelings and they understand that they have endless love for their owners, and it’s also not easy for them to face what may be happening."]

Marie Cloie said the pets have been serving as their strength amid their grief. They are also the ones who help them remember how JM loved and cared for them.
