2-year-old son wishing to hug pilot dad in quarantine captures hearts of netizens

A two-year-old kid who adorably expressed his wish to hug his pilot dad, who was in quarantine, captured the hearts of many netizens.

In the TikTok video shown on Oscar Oida’s “24 Oras” report Wednesday, a little boy could be seen jumping at their home’s balcony while crying and calling for his father, who was looking at his son through a window from across another building.

“My pilot daddy is in quarantine because he had a COVID-19 positive passenger,” the text in the video read. “I miss him so much. I want to hug him so badly.”

Because they both couldn’t do anything, the little boy just acted as if he was going to fly toward his father.

According to Roby Guansing, he felt emotional while watching his son Zach because he really felt his longing.

“Nakakaiyak kasi palagi siyang [nakayakap] sa ’kin kapag nandiyan ako tapos magkalayo kami. Parang gusto niya talaga akong yakapin kasi nakikita niya ako kasi wala kaming magawa,” he said.

[I was close to tears because he always hugs me when I’m with them, but now we’re apart. It’s like he really wants to hug me because he can see me but we can’t do anything.]

Raica, Zach’s mom, said she took a video of their son because she found his gesture cute and as a mother, she also couldn’t help but feel emotional.

She said they shared the moment on social media to remind everyone to follow the safety protocols.

“Let’s look [at] the bigger picture. Mahirap po na magkahiwalay pero mas magandang mag-quarantine or mag-isolate ’yung mga na-expose para sa ikabubuti ng lahat, mga kasama sa bahay, mga anak,” said Raica.

[It’s hard to be apart but it’s better for those who got exposed to isolate or be in quarantine for the welfare of everyone, including those at home and the children.]

“Mahirap na po eh. ’Wag na po tayo dumagdag sa problema ng health system at gobyerno natin.”

[It’s difficult. Let’s not add to the problems of our health system and our government.]

Now that Roby has finished his quarantine, Zach can now hug his father anytime he wants.
