Grammy winner H.E.R. gives a shout out to Pinoy fans by impersonating her Filipina Tita on TikTok
After her song "I Can't Breathe" won Song of the Year during the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on Monday (Philippine time), H.E.R. gave a hilarious shout out to her Filipino fans.
Reposting her TikTok video on Twitter, the Filipino-American singer whose real name is Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson imagined what her Filipina Tita would tell her after her Grammy win and impersonated that.
“My Tita Joan would say, ‘Oh my God, I am so proud of you. You have Grammy’s wow. Diamond, is that diamond? Even if you do not win you are still a winner. You are a winner! I like that song, that song you sing ‘I can’t breathe,'" H.E.R. said using her Filipino accent.
In the caption of the post, she wrote, "Shout out to my Filipinos." She used the hashtag #pinoypride as well.
