Thai news website uses Roque GIF because 'he's round and Asian'
A Thai news website on Twitter late Saturday decided to use a GIF of Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in issuing reminders about COVID-19.
Shortly after the Thai Enquirer reported on how 548 COVID-19 cases were discovered in the Samut Sakhon province of Thailand, the website felt the need to issue a friendly reminder about COVID-19, — that is, to wash your hands, wear a mask, and practice social distancing.
Conveniently, it found a GIF of Roque, during one of his Malacanang briefings, where the necessary reminders were pasted on his stand right below his microphone.
Of course, the Thai news website used the GIF.
"We're all in this together so we would just like to remind everyone reading to 1. Wash your hands constantly, 2. Always wear a mask, 3. Socially Distance," the Thai Enquirer wrote on Twitter, accompanying the Roque GIF.
"Listen to government announcements and do not take unnecessary risks," it added.

On Sunday morning, it felt the need to explain that "we have no idea who this person is."
"We used the gif because he is round and Asian!" the Thai Enquirer said.

The Thai Enquirer is an English-speaking news website that boasts of "commentary, criticisms and news from a Thai perspective," it said on its Twitter bio.
"We intend to provide a mixture of in-depth reporting, political and cultural commentary, as well as highlights of fiction, pros, poetry, and humour," it said on its website.
At the moment, it has 48,000 followers on Twitter. — LA, GMA News
