'Haikyuu' trends anew following final volume, light novel release

"Haikyuu" took over Twitter trends following the release of the manga's final volume and light novel.

Well-loved characters like Oikawa Tooru and Bokuto Koutarou were among the many that made it to the Philippines' trending list early Wednesday, as fans got a glimpse of the panels.

The popular manga by Haruichi Furudate released its final chapter last July 20. The release of the final volume on Wednesday officially marked the end of the eight-year long journey.

The 45th Volume included bonus illustrations, while the latest light novel delved more into the Monster Generation through a series of interviews conducted by Yamamoto Akane.

"Haikyuu!!" follows Hinata Shouyou, a boy determined to become a great volleyball player despite his small stature. Joining Karasuno High School's volleyball club, he and his rival-turned-teammate Kageyama Tobio attempt to rise to the top.

The anime is currently in its fourth season, the second half of which just started airing this October. —JCB, GMA News
