5 unforgettable vlog moments by Lloyd Cafe Cadena

Numerous fans, friends, celebrities and members of the vlogging community were shocked and saddened at the sudden announcement on Friday of the death of Lloyd Cafe Cadena.

Lloyd, who is known for his hilarious skits and larger-than-life energy, started his vlogging journey almost 10 years ago.

He has since touched millions of lives not only with his content but also with how he used his fame to help out his family and others as well.

With more than five million subscribers on YouTube, Lloyd created game-changing and unforgettable videos that people will remember him by for years to come.

Here are just a few out of hundreds that he had made over the past decade:

1. When one of his oldest videos reached 1 million views for the first time

The famous and well-loved YouTube personality that we know today began making funny videos 10 years ago.

Although his videos from that time have already reached thousands of views, his skit on his experiences riding public transportation became one of his first ones to hit over a million views.

Released in August 2012, Lloyd’s takes on long lines and fellow passengers’ distinct body odor struck a chord with many viewers and took over the internet.

2. When he was finally able to buy a house for his family

After years of hard work, Lloyd was able to buy himself and his mom their own house in Cavite.

In numerous vlog entries, Lloyd brought his followers through almost every step of the process, from buying and renovating the new house to problems with the stairs and the plumbing.

The comedian shared in another vlog that he was in a hurry to buy a house because he wanted his mom to experience having their own place.

“Magre-retire na mama ko and I want her to experience na may sarili na kaming bahay,” Lloyd shared in a vlog posted on Aug. 26.

“Sa bahay na kami, hindi na kami sa iskwater!” his mom exclaimed.

He also explained that their original house was also going to be demolished so he wanted to secure their future and their safety.

“Ide-demolish na kami,” he said. “Ayoko naman tumira kami doon tapos nakikita namin na dine-demolish bahay namin.”

3. When his video on jeepney experiences reached 10 million views

In a video posted in 2017, Lloyd showcased another set of experiences Filipinos commonly dealt with whenever they rode jeepneys.

Lloyd went into detail and enumerated numerous awkward and scary scenarios such as getting robbed and witnessing couples being too physically affectionate inside the jeep.

The video has reached over 10 million views.

4. When he gave away tablets to children to help with online learning

Aside from being hilarious, Lloyd didn’t shy away from helping others.

Just this August, Lloyd posted a video of himself giving away free tablets to children in urban areas to help them enroll and learn online amid the pandemic.

The comedian even joked that with the tablet, kids can learn online, or, you know, just surf on Facebook.

Meanwhile, in 2019, Lloyd also donated eight television sets to La Huerta Elementary School, where he studied as a child.

5. When he paid for other people’s needs

Lloyd is known for pulling pranks on his mom, his friends and even his neighbors.

There were also times when he’d do a “hakot” challenge where he and his friends would go to a convenience store and he’d ask them to take whatever items they could carry within a set time limit and he would pay for the purchases.
