Facebook post goes viral for saying SexBomb Girls predicted COVID-19 pandemic

A Facebook post recently went viral for hilariously poking fun at “The Spaghetti Song” by SexBomb Girls, saying it predicted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“SexBomb predicted COVID-19 15 years ago,” communications professional Vberni Regalado shared on Facebook, posting a photo of the original SexBomb lineup.

“Grabe talaga ang powerful ng SexBomb, imagine 15 years ago alam na nilang magkaka-COVID-19 and even promoted physical distancing!!!” he said.

Vberni said “The Spaghetti Song” was proof that SexBomb Girls predicted the disease, explaining how its lyrics symbolized some of its symptoms.

“Ispageti is the proof!!! Imagine nag-apir lang sumakit na ang ulo (headache) sumakit pa ang bewang (body pain), pati dibdib (shortness of breath) at tuhod (tiredness)—proof na sa isang apir lang nata-transmit ang virus at makakaramdam ka ng symptoms!!!” he said.

“OMG SexBomb is such a genius *sinuntok ang pader*,” he added.

Vberni said another Facebook user, Evangello Cyedel, pointed out how the “pababa at pataas” line on the song predicted that the country wouldn’t flatten the curve.

“And yes remember that Ispageti pababa at pataas—they know we won’t flatten the curve!!! (Thanks for pointing out Evangello Cyedel!!)” he wrote.

The post has garnered over 56,000 reactions, more than 2,200 comments, and over 33,000 shares on Facebook as of this writing. – Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/RC, GMA News
