Man proposes to girlfriend as Comet NEOWISE lights up the sky
A couple in Nueva Ecija just had the proposal of a lifetime!
As Comet NEOWISE shot across across the night sky, Richmond Perez went down on one knee and asked to marry his girlfriend Sandra, and she said yes — for the second time.
Apparently, Richard had already proposed to Sandra with a simple ring before, but decided to propose again when the new ring they chose arrived.
The couple had been waiting to get a glimpse of the comet for five days before the sky cleared and they were able to spot it.
When they were taking photos of the comet, Sandra was surprised when her fiance proposed anew during the once in a lifetime opportunity.
"Finally Lord allows us to see this once in a lifetime event. Thank you Lord for these two wonderful creation in front of my eyes," Richmond said.
Comet NEOWISE, discovered by NASA in March 27, started approaching the Earth in July 3, 2020. It will slowly orbit away and disappear from sight by mid-August.
It's next appearance won't be until another 6,800 years.
