After being turned into a meme, K-pop star Rain unleashes remix of 2017 song 'Gang'
When life gives you lemons, make a lemonade — in this case, make a remix.
This is what K-pop icon Rain did after the music video of his 2017 song "Gang" went viral again last month.
His old moves didn't impress the younger generation of K-pop fans though, so of course, he became a meme. South Koreans made "One Gang A Day" a thing, and it became a form of stress relief for those struggling with the coronavirus pandemic.
Rain was ever so cool about it, when he addressed the topic on MBC show Hang Out With Yoo.
"I'm very disappointed. Why do one 'Gang' a day? It should be at least three 'Gang' a day," he said. "One 'Gang' after breakfast, one 'Gang' after lunch and one 'Gang' after dinner."
And now, he just released a remix of "Gang" with Jay Park, Sik K, Haon, and pH-1.
The group also expressed support to the Black Lives Matter movement.
"H1GHRMUSIC supports the fight against injustice and wants equality for all," it said in the video's opening.
Rain has been making waves online lately after he launched a TikTok account and made everyone fall in love with him again.
Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) debuted as a solo singer in 2002, eventually becoming an international sensation and at some point earning the title "King of K-Pop." He also pursued an acting career, starring in 2004 series "Full House."
He is married to actress Kim Tae Hee and is the father of two children.
