Meet the public school teacher behind the 'Walang Ganun Mars' TikTok series
The endless bickering of a certain "Mars" and "Aling Nena" has been making a lot of people laugh throughout this quarantine period.
A TikToker made a viral "kapitbahay serye" where he plays both Mars, a woman who always confronts her neighbor over neighborly troubles like gossip, and Aling Nena, who always covers her tracks with the already-iconic line "Walang ganun mars!"
But did you know that the creator under all those costumes and wigs is a public school teacher in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite?
In an episode of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," Richo Bautista revealed the story behind his TikTok series and how he drew inspiration from his early life.
"Noong bata pa po ako, kahit palanggana pinagaawayan. So ginawa namin 'yung video na 'yun na kung saan ay makakarelate ang lahat," he said.

Bautista gave KMJS a tour of their "set" at home and shared how he got the idea of creating the comedy series.
“Minsan po, nag-try po akong mag-TikTok. Ngumiti-ngiti lang ako, wala kahit isang nag like! Samantala, 'yung isang napakagandang babae eh, humikab lang one million 'yung likes niya," he said.
"So ginawa namin ng pamangkin ko, lumikha nga kami ng iba't ibang character, 'yun nga po 'yung tinawag naming kapitbahay serye," he added.
The teacher also said that he completely adlibbed the famous "Walang ganun mars!" line.
"On the spot po 'yun. Wala po kaming script. Kaya kung ano lang pong lumalabas sa bibig ko, 'yun na lang po!"

Because each episode requires him to play every role, Bautista shared the challenges of producing the series, such as changing his costumes.
"Syempre nagmamadali kami. Ang hirap tapos papalit-palit pa kami ng aming mga setting. Tatakbo ako, andun 'yung costume ko,” he said.
"Kaya 'yung ginagawa namin ma'am pinagpapatong-patong na lang namin 'yung costume ko," he added.
Bautista said he is not worried about losing his credibility as a teacher even though he makes funny videos.
"Kilala po nila ako sumasayaw sa klase, kasi P.E. and health teacher po ako eh. Kaya alam na po ng mga bata kung ano nga po talaga 'yung aking personality," he said.
He also said he has been bullied in the past, but one of his college professors taught him to love and accept himself for who he is.
"Kaya tanggap po kung ano 'yung sabihin ng iba. Tanggap ko kung ano 'yung mga negative. Kaya wala nang insecurities na sinasabi," he said. —Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
