Mom goes 'beast mode' on her sons in viral TikTok video

A mother in Tondo, Manila has been caught up in the TikTok craze after her sons included her in their comedy skit amid the enhanced community quarantine.

In a now viral video, brothers Joeyboy and Baste Orbe were dancing in front of the camera while wearing only their underwear.

Their mom, Jemelyn, then crossed the frame twice in front of them while holding clothes in hangers. When the brothers complained, she went into beast mode:

"Kung ayaw n'yong mabangga kayo, umalis kayong dalawa rito!"

In their interview on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," the mother and sons revealed that the video was scripted but it was based on the reality of their daily life.

Like the Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy, Joeyboy and Baste made a punchline out of their mothers' tough love.

"Famous line ko sa kanila, 'Hindi ba kayo titigil? Pag hindi kayo tumigil ako na lang titigil,'" Nanay Jemelyn said.

Joeyboy shared that his mom once caught him and his siblings still awake at 1 am. She scolded them not once, but twice.

"Nagsalita na po siya noong madaling araw na 'yun. Kinabukasan meron pa ulit, pang-almusal," he said.

Despite her constant reprimands, Joeyboy said they still love their mother no matter what.

"Lahat po ng kuda na sinasabi niya, kung susundin mo po 'yun, mapapabuti ka," he said.

And with their TikTok going viral, his mother is now internet famous.

"Hindi ko alam na paglabas ko ng bahay, tinitingnan ako ng mga tao," Nanay Jemelyn said. —MGP, GMA News
