PHL-based Syrian vlogger buys hundreds of boxes of N95 masks to donate to Taal eruption victims

A Philippines-based Syrian vlogger is out there helping his fellow Pinoys in need.

Amid the rising prices and dwindling stocks of the N95 masks, Basel, who manages the page "Hungy Syrian Wanderer," is giving a bunch of them away for free after purchasing hundreds of boxes of them.

In a post on his Facebook page, Basel said he went around trying to find N95 masks the whole day because it was sold out almost everywhere.

"I bought everything I find (hundreds of box with 50 pcs masks each box, not bad) even its pricey to give away for free to anyone and bring to Batangas and Tagaytay myself," he wrote. "Its so sad to see on my news feed that some people sells or buy all stocks and resells them at a very high price as high as 200-400 each mask!"

He said that he will go around and give masks to people he comes across with.

He also plans to head to evacuation centers to donate the masks, along with blankets, diapers, and water, among other necessities.

In his post, he also wrote, "VOLCAN KA LANG, FILIPINO KAME."

Basel describes himself as the "adopted son of the Philippines," who is "Syrian by blood, but truly Filipino by heart."

He came to the Philippines at the age of 18 when war broke out in his country.
