Kris blames ‘mastermind’ for PRRD-Ninoy kiss comparison

Kris Aquino changed her mind and was no longer furious with Presidential Communications Group Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson for equating President Rodrigo Duterte's kiss in South Korea to the kisses her father, former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, received before he deplaned and was assassinated.

In an Instagram post, which included a definition on how to honor one's parents and a video of her father's assassination, Kris explained that she had reexamined her reaction to Uson and concluded that her parents would have found her behavior to be haughty and misdirected.

"'Sino ba ang pinaka makikinabang kung bastusin ang inambag ni Cory & Ninoy Aquino para sa demokrasya ng [Pilipinas]?' Siempre yung nagnakaw nun... ," wrote Kris.

Aquino went on to say that she was no longer irate with Uson, who was merely acting like a product endorser, and was therefore not the "mastermind" behind the Duterte-Ninoy kiss comparison.

"[I]’m sorry nagalit ako sa 'nagtrabaho lang'," she added. "And you weren’t deserving of the hatred from my fans & supporters. Yung nagbabayad sa editors & writers mo ang dapat awayin at halukayin ang nakaraan, gawan ng memes at murahin- not you."

And though Aquino did not flat-out name the "mastermind", she emphasized she was not referring to President Duterte. "Walang plus points kay Presidente kung sirain nya ang alaala ng mga magulang ko," she pointed out.

Aquino also seemed to have a new-found empathy for Uson. "I UNDERSTAND YOU... if you hit my parents again, i know TRABAHO LANG. P.S. when we lived in Boston, Baskin Robbins JAMOCA was my dad’s favorite ice cream flavor," she wrote in conclusion. — DVM, GMA News
