Hundreds join ‘Naruto Run’ at UP Los Baños
Ninjas abound at the University of the Philippines Los Baños campus!
Students on Tuesday paid tribute to Naruto, the titular character from the popular anime that swept that nation a decade ago.
Some attendees wore costumes, ranging from the full orange garb worn by the character himself to low-key accessorizing with a forehead protector.
The goal? For the students to have fun and share positivity by mimicing the iconic running style from the show — upper torso forward, with your arms dragging behind you.
According to Adriel Alfred U. Palomar, a BS Civil Engineering student and the main organizer of the Naruto Run, "the event was made as a form of escape from the tiring academics of the students. It [also] shows that people will always have something in common that they can share with one another."
"Bakit kung kelan ako grumaduate saka nagkaroon ng ganitong event? Pangarap ko po ang maging shinobi kahit isang araw lang," a UPLB alumnus wrote in the comments section.
Jokes were thrown too, noting that those who tripped were low on "chakra" and are not destined to be a "hokage."
The video of the run has been viewed over 30,000 times as of writing. — AT/LA, GMA News
