In real life, star in viral Jollibee ad married his best friend

Last week, a series of ads for fastfood chain Jollibee captured Pinoy netizens' hearts for being, at turns, heartbreaking and gratifying.

One of the videos called "Vow" told the story of a man who saw his best friend getting married to another man.

But in real life, Mark Joseph Tam had a happy ending, ending up marrying his best friend.

In an interview on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" on Sunday, Mark said that his family was surprised by his sudden rise to fame.

“Mayroon na akong asawa at anak. Nagulat sila. Mixed emotions—ngayon lang nangyari sa amin ito,” he said.

He gave advice to anyone who ended up falling in love with their best friend — and getting their heart broken.

“Kung sinoman ang darating sa inyo, mas hihigitan pa niya ang pagmamahal na inalaya niyo sa mga best friend niyo,” he said. —Bianca Rose Dabu/JST, GMA News
