The emotional story of the kids in 'Nung ako'y bata pa' viral video
Siblings Bilog and Bunak have become viral sensations for their video that has gone viral on Facebook.
More recently, Maine Mendoza made a triumphant return to Dubsmash using audio from their clip, resulting in a brighter spotlight for the siblings.
"Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" tracked down the kids behind the video, and featured their story on Sunday's episode.
"Bilog" is 10-year-old Danica Tiongson, while "Bunak" is her seven-year-old brother Daniel, who are two of five children.
They used their older sister's video to shoot the clip that had become viral.
According to their mother Annaliza, Bilog really loves to sing, while Bunak has always been a naughty kid.
"Kasi sutil po 'yung lalaki ko eh. Hindi po sa pag-aano, pero dalawang beses na po siyang pabalik-balik ng grade one dahil nagka-cutting," Annaliza said.
"Si Bilog naman po, kahit minsan may pagkamaldita, minsan naaasahan ko siya sa mga kapatid niya," she added.
But behind their Facebook video is a sad tale, with the kids' father leaving the family last October. They got news that he had left them for someone else.
"Nami-miss na po ng bata 'yung papa niya," Annaliza said. "Napakahirap ng nagsosolo kasi lahat, hindi mo kayang gampanan lahat pagdating sa tatay eh. Kaya ko financially, pero 'yung pag-aaruga ng isang tatay, hindi mo kaya 'yun," said Annaliza, who sells kakanin during the day and balut at night to make ends meet.
Bilog, who is close to her father, says she misses him most.
"Siya po yung naggigising sa akin 'pag papasok ako," she said. "Tapos po ngayon hindi na. Wala na siya. Nami-miss ko nga po eh."
The song she had wanted to upload on Facebook was supposed to be for her father. She had been practicing it for weeks, and she was hoping her father would see it and come home to them. —JST, GMA News
