Emilia Clarke to her younger self: ‘You're not as fat as you think you are’
The Mother of Dragons was not always the confident breaker of shackles poised to conquer Westeros with a large army. Emilia Clarke was, at one point, just an 18-year-old aspiring actress who didn't get into drama school.
In a video letter addressed to her younger self published by Teen Vogue, Clarke gives a glimpse to former (and maybe even current) insecurities—struggles that only served to build her character and helped her become who she is now.
Clarke quoted "Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)" and told "Littler Emilia" that she's not as fat she thinks she is, continuing on to discuss the tricky issue of body image.
"There are some women who look some way and there are other women who look another way. Like, a whole other way. And the way that other women look, people love. Cause they look like women." she said.
Her advice? Hug the people who make you feel like you're worth it.
The letter first went viral in April, but the original video in YouTube was taken down. Teen Vogue posted it once again June 11 on Facebook and the video drew over half a million views less than a day after it was uploaded.
Clarke, 29, was catapulted to popularity for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones." She was hailed sexiest woman in the world by Esquire in 2015. — AT, GMA News
