Ely Buendia 'takes back' his promise from Eraserheads' Ligaya
"Gagawin ko ang lahat pati ang thesis mo," sang the Eraserheads in 1993.
The line was a lyric of its hit song "Ligaya," the first single from the band's seminal debut album "ultraelectromagneticpop."
But Ely Buendia, the band's lead vocalist and songwriter, caused a stir with a cheeky comment about the line recently.
"Eh sariling thesis ko nga di ko magawa-gawa sa’yo pa," he posted in his Twitter account on Friday.
Eh sariling thesis ko nga di ko magawa-gawa sa’yo pa.

Buendia's followers and other netizens reacted in amusement at the statement.
Fans teased him back, saying that he only promised to do Ligaya's thesis to convince her to be his girlfriend.
@elybuendia9001 guys, di nyo ba gets? Kaya nya sinabi yun, para mapa-oo lang nya si Ligaya. Hehe the things that you say when you make ligaw

Patunay na wag dapat maniniwala sa bola. Ang panliligaw ay panahon ng kasinungalingan. https://t.co/4LReJqozn4

However, many fans were also hurt and let down by the tweet, prompting Ely to apologize.
Anyway, to the fans I hurt, I’m sorry. Good night everyone.

But the singer maintained that it was just a joke, and that it was his song anyway.
Number 1 requirement for an Eheads fan: a sense of humor.
