Not all Christians against LGBT, says Yeng Constantino in emotional vid

Singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino took some time off from her vacation in Palawan to share her thoughts on the blazing topic of the week, Sarangani Representative and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao's remarks about homosexuals being worse than animals.

Constantino said she initially felt like she does not need to add fuel to the fire, especially since plenty of prominent personalities have already spoken out against the statements. But after she received a Tweet urging her to take Pacquiao's side to show solidarity as a Christian, she said that she was infuriated.

"Gusto kong ratratin ng malupit na reply," Constanino shared. However, she decided to take a moment to compose herself and her thoughts.

She added that her brother is gay and she saw the way society treated LGBT individuals as second-class citizens. Constantino said that she called her brother and apologized for Pacquiao's statements, and the brother said, "Bakit ka nag-so-sorry? Si Manny Pacquiao ka ba?"

As a Christian, Constantino mused that if she can love her brother, surely God, in his infinite capacity, loves her brother, too.

"Kung ako may pagmamahal na gan'un sa kapatid ko, paano pa si God?" she said, "Paano pa 'yung Diyos, eh siya 'yung love. God is love. 'Yung pagmamahal ko siguro sa kapatid ko, kakarampot lang 'yun kumpara sa love ni God for him."

She also extended an apology on behalf of all other Christians to the LGBT community and said that God's love is beyond measure. —Aya Tantiangco/JST, GMA News
