WATCH: Homer Simpson takes ice bucket challenge

All in the name of awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the patriarch of television's longest-running US animated show got splashed with some ice water... and more. Much more.

 

But before passing out, Homer Simpson managed to make a pitch for ALS awareness and donations for research.

 

 

Homer also challenged fellow characters from "The Simpsons" Lenny and Ned Flanders - as well as billionaire Donald Trump.

 

The ice bucket challenge seeks to boost awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and to raise funds for research to address it.

 

As of August 27, the ALS Association said the challenge has raised $94.3 million since July 29. — Joel Locsin/JST, GMA News
