Facebook claims dramatic stability boost in updated iOS app

Facebook members using iPhones and iPads may want to upgrade to the social networking giant's most recent app, which promises a dramatic improvement in stability.

Version 13.1 of Facebook's app for iOS claims a crash rate reduction of over 50 percent, thanks to the debugging of "file corruption."

"Recently, we solved a long-term mobile debugging problem and reduced the crash rate for people using the Facebook for iOS app by more than 50 percent," Slobodan Predolac and Nicolas Spiegelberg said in a blog post.

They said they traced a major cause of app crashes to a code corruption issue.

After eventually identifying and addressing the issue, they said the resulting fix "cut the Facebook iOS app crash rate in half and put a longstanding problem to rest." — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
