Menarco Tower: The first office building to register for WELL Certification

Menarco Tower, the first office development by boutique, award-winning real estate developer Menarco Development Corporation, is raising the bar on how buildings are conceptualized, constructed and created in the country.
 
It aims to provide a working environment where organizations can perform at its very best. Investments in details allow the development to uniquely cater to the needs of the occupants—from its prime location to the delicate control of air toxicity so as to minimize sick building syndrome.

Menarco Tower is setting the standard by being the first building in the Philippines to register for WELL Certification. The WELL Building Standard, established in 2013 by the International Well Building Institute (IWBI), measures and monitors the performance of building features that impact the users’ health and well- being.

Menarco Tower is already a pre-certified LEED GOLD Tower. Seven different areas (or what the IWBI calls “concepts”) are measured and monitored to be certified by WELL: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.

From the assessment of the number of polluting particles in the air to the creation of an indoor environment that is distraction-free, productive and soothing to the promotion of healthier eating habits—these factors are all analyzed and considered when awarding the WELL Building Standard certification.

Menardo R. Jimenez Sr., chairman of Menarco Development, who built GMA Network from 1970s until the year 2000, has the final word on the tower. “In all the businesses that I have established, I have always believed in the value of hard work and integrity. Menarco Tower is located on 32nd Street, BGC. Topping off of the tower will take place on June 8. The building is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter 2017.

Menarco Tower has also garnered three Philippine Property Awards: 2016 Best Green Development Winner, 2016 Best Office Development (Highly Commended) and 2015 Best Office Architectural Design (Highly Commended).
