Historian to discuss controversial topics in PHL history at Gateway Gallery

Historian Xiao Chua, assistant professorial lecturer at the DLSU History Department, PTV-4’s “Xiao Time” host, “History with Lourd” historical consultant, Knights of Rizal spokesperson, and historical writer at GMA News website, will have a walking tour of the “Sining Saysay:  Philippine History in Art” paintings at the Gateway Gallery (5th floor, Gateway Tower), on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. The tour is entitled "Xiao Time Live! Sining Saysay: Controversial Topics in Philippine History."

The tour will be interactive for it will invite questions from the participants as each painting is discussed.  It will show how art had correctly or wrongly represented our history and how these images affected our view of our past, our heroes and ourselves as a people.  It also emphasizes how art can be a powerful tool in the teaching of history, provided it is discussed in Filipino lens.
