DLSU College of Liberal Arts Social Development Research Center celebrates 35th Year

De La Salle University-Manila’s longest existing research center, the Social Development Research Center of the College of Liberal Arts, is celebrating its 35th year in a day-long event to be held on April 28, Monday at the DLSU campus.

With this year’s theme “SDRC @ 35: Crossing Boundaries, Advancing Beyond Change”, the event will include presentations on current projects at the Center, a book launching, and a simple get-together with stakeholders and funding agencies.

Among the topics to be discussed in the project presentations are the Yolanda aftermath, climate change in Southeast Asia, aspects of poverty alleviation, transforming the lives of workers with exceptionality, health facility assessment of barangay health stations, and reproductive and sexual health needs of women with disability.

The Social Development Research Center seeks to fulfill a two-fold mission: to serve as a hub in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region for research and advocacy, and to form a bridge between the academic community on the one hand, and the society and community it is serving on the other. Its vision is for Filipinos and Asian and Pacific peoples to enjoy an improved way of life, and to live under decent conditions, in an environment worthy of human dignity and respect.

For further details on the event, interested parties may call 524-5351 or 524-5349.
