Get ready to swim as mermaids do at Manila Ocean Park
Being surrounded by water, it is only natural that Filipinos have a deep fascination with mythical sea creatures particularly mermaids or locally known as sirena. These alluring and mysterious sea maidens are often depicted in popular art and culture, the current craze for primetime TV drama. They are mythical half-fish, half-humans who hypnotize men with their angelic singing voice and enchanting beauty. Mermaids are also believed to possess supernatural powers of healing. These ethereal beings are the source of urban legends and local folklore which continue to captivate the imagination of both young and old alike.
This summer, Manila Ocean Park offers the Mermaid Swim Experience for those who want to fulfill their dream to become mermaids. It is a 45-minute program that features basic swimming, how to glide with a fish tail underwater and proper breathing techniques. The high elastic mermaid monotails are colorful, comfortable and easy to wear. Each guest will receive a souvenir photo of her mermaid pose. Guests may also swim in the outdoor Jacuzzi and indoor swimming pool of Liquid Pool & Lounge. The Mermaid Swim Experience aims to provide a fun outdoor activity and to infuse appreciation for marine life. This captivating package has an affordable discounted rate of P400 per head and can be purchased online and at the park's ticket counters.
