FEU Makati innovates its MBA program
Far Eastern University (FEU) has introduced several innovations to its Masters in Business Administration program (MBA). The FEU MBA course, which is offered in the school’s Makati campus, now consists of four phases-- the Foundation, Core, Elective and Integrating Courses.
Gone in the curriculum is the Pre-MBA Phase, which is being replaced by seminars in Financial Accounting & Control, and Quantitative Tools & Techniques. According to FEU Makati Dean Celito Macachor, the goal is to strengthen the accounting foundation of the students, to help them understand their role in business and to help foster critical thinking.
“We want to develop a manager who is very focused and who knows what the mission and objective is. We want to teach our graduates that if they don’t know the answer, they should know how to ask the right question and to look for the right answer,” the Dean explained.
A full-time student can finish the entire course in just 15-18 months. After working through the Foundation Courses and the Core Courses, students can select from 20 electives and choose either the thesis or the non-thesis track.
“The professors who are handling the Foundation and Core courses are masters in those subjects. We are also targeting experts to handle the Elective courses,” added Dean Macachor, who is also the Dean of FEU Manila’s Institute of Accounts Business and Finance.
FEU Makati also offers the Executive MBA Program in partnership with John Clements where graduates earn a FEU Diploma. The academics of the program are handled by John Clements together with Harvard University professors from the United States.
