PAREF Woodrose School caps 35th anniversary with a successful musical production
My Life in Three Bags is about what goes on in the life of a young girl in Woodrose
PAREF Woodrose School capped its year long 35th anniversary celebration with a successful staging of the original musical production, My Life in Three Bags, recently at the Insular Life Auditorium in Filinvest.
Performers entertained the full-house audience, with inspiring original songs and delightful dance numbers including a rap dance by parents. The story and musical numbers reflected what goes on in the life of a young girl in Woodrose, and her encounters with her friends, teachers, mentors and parents.
The play is an original production with cast and crew featuring Woodrose students and alumnae, parents, faculty and friends. Songs are by composer/arranger Gino Cruz, Amy Miranda, Lala Kliatchko and musical arranger Pipo Cifra. Script and song lyrics were written by M.C. Stephanie Alejo-Cabañes. The production was directed by the Woodrose directorial team in cooperation with Helen O’ Grady, a UK-based drama program.
“The themes running through the play reflect the foundations of PAREF education,” says Severina M. Villegas, Woodrose Executive Director.

Playing the lead character Pia were several students representing her various life stages from a young student to alumna: Raphaella Reneé Hernandez and Juliana Maria Manalo (primary), Manisha Isabella Maru and Patricia Maria Teresa Cuenca (intermediate), Bianca Alessandra Ruiz (high school) and Kathleen Francisco (alumna).
The show was co-presented by PLDT Fibr and The INSULAR LIFE Assurance Company, Ltd.
