Pi Lambda Theta honors woman educators


The Pi Lambda Theta (PLT), an international honors organization of outstanding woman educators is celebrating its 40th anniversary at the Quezon City Sports Club, along E. Rodriguez, on July 31, 2013, Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
 
Invited guest of honor is PLT International President, Dr. Patricia Williams, who will be introduced by PLT Philippines Chapter President Dr. Victoria Naval, Executive Vice President of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
 
To celebrate the milestone “40th Year of Pi Lambda Theta in the Philippines”, 24 PLT members, “Eminent Filipino Women Educators", being past and present presidents of the different colleges and universities in the country, will be given recognition and awarded a medallion of honor. This will be the third group given such honor; the first was in 1982 followed by the second in 1989.
 
Another highlight of the event is the induction of 40 new members who have Ph.D. degrees and outstanding in the different areas of education. They will be led by Dr. Fe Hidalgo, former Secretary of Education, who will give the response on behalf of the new initiates. 
 
The other features of the afternoon activities will be the presentation of a special dance number, “Rigodon de Honor” participated by the officers and Board members and the raffle draw.
